No. 1 - Intro to ITM

It's a beautiful day here in Bend, OR. Sun is out and air is crisp. I often think about how simple these moments can be but how grateful I am to notice them regardless.

That's been my whole objective behind my artwork. I've always been a painter, drawer, sketcher, idea-having creative machine, but it has been challenging to put it into words - the why - behind the passion for the arts.

Words are hardly my forte, I often write and rewrite many things.... but color, light, lines, landscape, edges, shadows - those are easier to get the point across to take in the small details and develop an appreciation for them. Speaking through visuals.

In a post-pandemic world, where we are seeing a shift into remote work, without coming back to office life anytime soon, full time anyway - the importance of pulling in connections is heightened. We are social animals, and connection is important after all.

Working remotely myself, I try to find ways to build connections daily to avoid negative thoughts or feelings and surprisingly there are ways to get connection without humans (only for so long of course) and it is to return back to our connection to Nature. Being present in the light, noticing the colors, (anyone else see dark purple in shade?) and being appreciative for a moment or two. It's simple yet compounding.

Welcome to the journey I am on with Into the Mystic Fine Arts where I will be using this as my channel for all ideas and creatives. I do not know what 5 years looks like from here, other than that I will always push forward and face the sun when the air is crisp!
