About Me - Contact

Hi!

My name is Kendall Green, the artist behind ITM and I am so grateful you are here!

I grew up in Northern California and went to school in Oregon (go beavs!) and enjoy being outside in nature, animals, coffee, my boyfriend, family, classes of any kind (I like to learn!), childhood friends, adulthood friends, quality time, fantasy books, and of course, painting. Wildly interested in colors and imagination, I started painting at a very young age and that characteristic trait has yet to leave my side.

For me, my story behind my business is ongoing because art is part of who I am, I was born deaf and now have cochlear implants, so my visual world feels very heightened, colors stand out to me more and I hold the beauty of our world dearly to my heart, so art for me is less about perfectionism and more about expressionism. Part of that expression is that with challenges of losing and then finding myself throughout teenage years, college, post college, careers, and now navigating my 30’s, it’s very important to me to always be going with the flow to maintain inner peace. Having dreams of homeowning and starting a family, working a regular job doesn’t feel like those things are achievable, so I took the one hobby that fulfilled me with or without income and decided to run with it. Because why not?

The art of “going with the flow” is what inspires practically every piece I’ve ever made simply because I take colors, an idea, mix it with alittle imagination and some energy on fire, and see what becomes of it.

When I found acrylic pouring, I felt that my story behind my art could really be told. While I love landscapes and floral as you’ll find, doing these pours, or known as marbled art, a process where the paints are separately mixed with a medium that creates a runny, thin, texture that is poured onto a canvas to swirl and flow together without totally mixing into one color blob, I felt that I finally found something that resonates with my style of painting by portraying the different threads of our daily lives, all jumbled together, moving together into a beautiful pattern.

My goal is that each person who sees or owns my artwork whether an original or a print, can be reminded that it’s okay to have a lot going on, boring days are a luxury, nurture those who you love, and to continue to go with the flow.

I talk a lot about the paintings but another crucial part of my ongoing story are my wood burn portraits. I do these specifically with home design in mind combining architecture and art in an elevated way. To me, the burns are a way to implement landscape designs to my portfolio and while they are not always as colorful as the paintings, the details and shading on a wood piece come from the idea of bringing the outside in, and I hope anyone who sees or owns my wood burn pieces feel connected to the beauty that surround us.

Besides, why own just one style?!

I could not have done this without my little group of family, friends, and my boyfriend who have supported me throughout time. Art and the beauty of it are heavily a part of me but so are they!

Ps Ben, my boyfriend does my framing on all originals!! 😊
